FAQ's

What causes hyperpigmentation?
Hyperpigmentation is caused by an overproduction in melanin. Melanin is the natural pigment that gives our skin, hair and eyes their color. A number of factors can trigger an increase in melanin production, but the main ones are sun exposure, hormonal influences, age and skin injuries or inflammation.
Do the brightening treatments whiten or bleach the skin?
No not at all, our brightening treatments even out skin tone; it does not whiten or bleach the skin.
Can you treat hyperpigmentation if I have sensitive skin?
Yes. There are some treatments that are not available right off the bat due to the sensitivity but we can start with lower strength chemical peels and do microdermabrasion to get you started. Once we rebuild the skin's barrier, we can start incorporating stronger treatments.
Do we treat hyperpigmentation for darker skin tones?
We are professionally trained in all Fitz Patrick skin tones (light to dark tones) so we are able to treat anyone who fights hyperpigmentation.
